1st Dynasty - 1957 to 1969 Boston Celtics
- Main Rival: Minneapolis-Los Angeles Lakers

2nd Dynasty - 1980 to 1988 Los Angeles Lakers
- Main Rival: Boston Celtics

3rd Dynasty - 1991 to 1998 Chicago Bulls
- Main Rival: Utah Jazz

I'd say that there are some criterea to being called a dynasty: winning at least 5 championships in a 10-year period and having multiple hall of famers, and being memorable.

With that, I'd go Lakers (Mikan era) Celtics (Russell era), Lakers (Magic era) and Bulls (Jordan Era).

I think I'd rank the Minny Lakers last, even though they are considered the first dynasty. They played among 17 teams that had to contract to 8. There was obviously not a lot of strong competition at the time.

I would say there are only 2, although Jordan made the bulls come close they need to have more than one spurt with different teams.
