But you can get a whole lot of junk food for extremely cheap prices. Is this why overweight people are generally lower class?

Because it's cheaper to produce a bunch of junk than high quality. But relatively speaking, it's better to get healthier food now because that's gonna save you those high hospital bills due to clogged arteries, heart problems, and other health issues.. so it's better to pay for it now, than to really pay the price later. But in a way that's messed up because if you don't have the money it's hard to eat healthy all the time. And I don't think it's necessarily lower class, but good or bad eating habits we learn from home, so if there's a history of heart problems, diabetes, high blood pressure in your family bad eating habits contribute to this occurence. And there's a lack of education about nutrition, exercise, portion control and so on... You wouldn't believe the amount of people that don't even drink water!! Besides we live in a fast life, food to go generation, and the only instant gratification is the fast food.

Because they aren't processed like junk food, they aren't full of cheap preservatives & have a shorted shelf life.
Yes, this is why the tables have no turned and the lower class is now the most overweight unlike 50 years ago they were underweight.

I disaggree with your assertion, that helathy food needs to be expensive. A head of romaine is cheaper the a Mcd grease burger. Fruit is cheaper than artery clogging pork chops, a sweet potato is one of the best food s you can eat,, sure is cheaper than lobster, or caviar. Also overwieght people are not necessarily "lower class",,but,, over weight. Also junk food is not cheap. a potato might coast about a 25 cents a pound,,but potato chips are around $4 a pound.

I think it's because a lot of people are becoming extremely
health conscious and these companies that manufacture healthy food are taking advantage. I do really think it's bad that companies do this, obesity is a serious issue and everyone no matter what economic class they're in should have a chance to buy the food they need to assist them lose weight.

it is not precisely real. while you're easily finding for healthy food, you will locate some, yet that desires careful checking (of aspects, shops close to you), and a few experience (like the place have they have been given clean stuff in many circumstances, and the place do they bypass away out the stuff till finally it actually rots on the shelf). that's often in simple terms the bio-food that's hilariously costly, yet those are no longer the only healthy meals. As for "why", that's an common question: via fact it is not as profiting to domesticate hassle-free, organic food. changed stuff in many circumstances grows extra suitable, seems extra suitable, is extra proof against climate alterations: those are all information that cause them to extra worthwhile (whether they're unnatural and unsafe).

It is because of the manufacturing process. It does cost more to manufacture and grow healthy foods. They also can not manufacture them in mass amounts. This may be some of the reason, but not all. It is a revolving door. A person doesn't have much $ when raising a child and they grow up liking the junk....and so on...and on....

the healthiest foods are the ones prepared at home. ussually cheaper.... you never know what is in the food at a resturant, thus less healthy.... Fat is cheaper per calorie....

Use to be the upper crest were the fattest. having time to prepare a healthy meal is part of it... since fast food you have no preparation or dishes to wash, just easier for people that work most the time.

because they require more care to produce and are usually made individually rather than on large productions lines an example a) Regular eggs vs b) Organic eggs
a) The regular eggs come from chickens which have their beaks clipped, and eyes plucked out, they are caged thier entire life and fed anti-biotics and hormones to keep them producing eggs. (very cheap to do)
b) organic eggs come from chickens which are allowed to roam the farmers plains and graze or do whatever chickens do with a lot of space.

Healthy foods do not have alot of fat. That's usually why it is more expensive....also no perservatives or artificial flavors etc. This topic has nothing to do with over weight people.
