My goldfish had swim bladder disease so I gave him pea for a few days & he stopped floating beely-up. He had fin-root too so I administrated Maracin Two for 5 days. (10 gl. tank). I allways used salt too! The water got really cloudy becouse of the medication. I didn't do any water change during these 5 days, I had air running in the tank and a wisper filter with NO CARBON. There was alot of foam on the top floating, I was surprised the fish didn't die in that mess! All these 5 days I feed him flakes, not too much, once/day. After 5 days of treatment I did a 75% water change and the following day 100%. Now the water beeing so clear I was able too see that the fish have black stripes on the dorsal fin, tail & black on gills! Since then,(it's been 6 days now),I changed water 75% every day.Filter is running with new carbon and air. Salt added! I took some ornaments from another fish tank just to bring some good bacteria in. No improuvement!WHAT IS GOING ON? SEE PICTURE OR ASK 4 MORE PICS!

EDIT: After seeing photos and posted at the request of the asker:

That almost looks like a natural coloration pattern. If you had not said that it wasn't there befre treatment I would think it was just color pattern, but since it's not here's a few suggestions.

1. Check your ammonia level. After treating with an
antibiotic, your cycle in the tank is totally gone.
High ammonia levels can cause black areas on the fins.

2. No disease I can come up with (and I teach Fish
Health at the local college) makes those type of
patterns on the fish especially black.

3. It could be a result of the medication or even of
fin regrowth. Different fish can react different ways
and can actually produce new colors as they heal.
That would fade over time though.

I would suggest you check the ammonia and correct it
by water changes if needed. If not, then just keep a
close watch for any changes in the fins. If this
color fades out in a day or two it was one of the last
items and certainly noting to worry about at all. If
you see any other changes in the color or the fins,
drop me a line and send me a new picture of it and
I'll see if I can figure out the cause. I honestly
don't think you have anything to be concerned about
other than possibly ammonia.

It's probably nothing more than stress really that's
keeping him on the bottom of the tank. The treatments
you had to do for him are quite stressful of course
and tht can cause some strange behaviors for a few
days.

Another possiblity other than stress is that he is
constipated. You can try feeding him thawed frozen
peas with the skin split off as a source of fiber. I
would suggest not feeding him for a day then offering
2-3 peas. Goldfish usually like them and readily eat
them. If it is constipation, he should respond within
24 hours of getting the peas in his diet.

Fancy goldfish seem to be especially prone to
constipation due to their body shape. Peas of other
fresh produce high in fiber should be a part of their
regular diet, maybe every 2-3 days. Not only will it
prevent constipation, but it's got vitimans and
minerals that are very difficult to get from even the
highest quality prepared foods.

1) no picture - unless you mean the one above your nickname - and that one's hard to see
2) the black is possibly the healing of an ammonia burn - if he was medicated in an uncycled hospital tank without periodic water changes the ammonia wold have built up - it just may too early for it to fade since you've done the water changes
