I love CSI Vegas AND Monk. Monk cracks me up.

I think there was talk a while back about criminals using shows like this and learning from them. I don't know how true it is. Many criminals are just plain stupid. And for the most part I think it's pretty hard to cover ALL of your tracks.

They are no training people to become murderers, they are just entertainment. Not everyone wants to sit around and watch American Idol or all the other reality shows. There are people out there who like cop shows. Shows like CSI are quite realistic and keep people totally engrossed. While a show like Monk is just totally clever beyond words. It's one of the most brilliant shows on TV. It gives you a mystery and it gives you a crazy detective who can make you laugh and laugh. it's written very well, above and beyond most of the trash that is on TV. It may not be your cup of tea, but there are loads of people out there who certainly enjoy watching both of these shows.

We like the CSIs and Monk. Monk cracks us up. I wonder if he will ever change
but then would the show go on. I'd like to see him link up with his current
'helper'. He would make an interesting Dad.

Csi & shows like Law & Order appeal to people because (like me) they have been the victim of violence or they've never had any excitement in their life. Monk I don't understand. I want to slap him & push him down into the dog poop in my yard. I understand what you're saying though. It teaches them to be careful not to leave fingerprints nor DNA anywhere.

I would say the mystery in how crimes are solved. (Even though most of the stuff you see on CSI is make believe.) And then there's the Emily Proctor reason. Damn, she is fine. Too bad David Caruso is there to ruin it. (Good ole SUPER DAVE, a legend in his own mind.)

I tend to think that there's so much unrest in our world, people want to watch something similar on tv that has a resolution. Maybe people want to believe that if a crime was committed against them, justice would prevail.
