the awkward silent moments? Do you feel obligated to fill it with inane conversation or are you comfortable just being silent?

I always try to make conversation with people...Hopefully it is not inane...although I suppose sometimes it is...I probably talk more that I should. I genuinely like to know people and sometimes I ask more questions than maybe I should. I hope it does not come off as being nosy, it really is a genuine interest in people...but if I were trying to get to know someone and made several attempts at conversation and felt they were not responding to me...I probably let the conversation lull and let them ask some questions about me...It is a two way street...you shouldn't have to kill yourself trying to get someone to talk to you...I would probably feel comfortable being silent after making several attempts...I would think I did what I could....(but I would not hold it against the person in the future...at a later date I would continue to try to talk to them unless I got the distinct impression they did not like me....because then I would feel ridiculous)

I'm usually silent, too, so I'd probably be quiet, because if they aren't talking, they probably don't want to talk, so I won't make them. But if it were extremely awkward, like if they just didn't have anything to say, but seemed like they were bored, I'd start some weird conversation on something like killer unicorns, or something.

I actually prefer it. Why does everyone have to talk all the time. Let's all just relax in the presence of others, instead of filling the thoughtful silence with unnecessary conversation.

I enjoy silence, sometimes the people around me find it a little disturbing though.
