Look at the zipper, it should say YKK. Sometimes it is hard to find. Look on the side of the main zipper part, it's usually there. Coach only uses YKK, and most counterfeit do not. I have never seen a counterfeit with good zippers. They are usually hard to close/open. YKK zippers run smoothly.
If it's leather, it will be buttery smooth. If it's a signature piece, the C's will start centered perfectly and go out from there. The mini-signature can be slightly off centered. The stitching will be tight, small. You will never find a coach with loose stitching. There will be an inside creed that will be leather, the lettering on the creed will be perfectly justified, and the serial number is on the lower portion of the creed. In bags without lining, the creed will be embossed direcetly on the leather. The number after the first letter in the serial number denotes year made (6 for 1996, 06 for 2006) The number after the dash is the style number, you can look this up with the drilldown:

Just erase the number 5706 and insert your bag's style number and it should give you a pic of the actual bag. This does not work for all styles and for factory pieces.
Coach products usually have the lozenge stamped on the hardware. Sometimes it is on the back of a buckle, so look.
Signature bags will never have signature lining.
Coach handtags are usually leather, same color and stitching as the bag itself. All of the handtags on my coach bags are only imprinted on one side. The Lozenge is raised from the tag, not embedded into it.
Some Coach bags come with metal handtags, but they are not those dinky silver things that are on almost every counterfeit.
If it was made for or sold through a Factory Store, it will have a bullseye stamp on the creed or an F before the style number and after the dash on the creed.
Here is a good site w/ pictures on authentic and counterfeit to help you learn the difference.

The best way to be able to spot an authentic is go to a local department store or Coach store and look at them, once you know them, it's hard to be fooled.
I am sorry this is so long, I am just trying to be as specific as I can. If you have any questions you can email me.
I know you do not want to hear this, but for the price, I am very sceptical of its authenticity. Coach purses are less expensive than other designer bags, but they are in no means cheap.

There are lots of ways to know if it's real:

1. Purchase it from an authorized Coach retailer or Coach store or Coach Outlet Store.

2. Look for the Coach Creed: inside the purse there is a square that's about 2x2 inches, and it says the bag is genuine, where it was made, and gives a serial number. You can call Coach and ask them if the serial number is valid given the shape, design and materials of which the bag is made. They can help you determine if the bag is authentic.

3. Coach hardware, all the metal, is either brass or nickel. Coach has high quality snaps, turn-locks and zippers and if they are plastic it's not an authentic Coach bag.

I have found some of very hard to find, sold-out Coach bags on eBay. You have to realize it's against eBay policy to allow fakes and they will suspend a sellers listings if their products are fake. I have never had a problem buying genuine Coach bags online because I use trusted eBay sellers or go to Coach.com

If this bag you are interested in is online, put up the link. I will look at it and let you know what I think. I've been buying Coach for 20+ years, so I have a pretty good idea of what to look for in REAL bags.

If you like it and you think you would love to carry it, then go for it! When I want a new Coach bag and I want the most bag for my buck, I look at the Coach Outlet stores located in most Premium Outlets. It's possible to get good deals there.

Best of luck to you hon, and if you love the bag buy it!!

I agree with everyone else, if you buy it from a coach store or coach official site then you dont have to worry about it authencity . I have other people tell me to check for straight lining of the signature, the stitches and etc. Depending on the quality of the fake, it really hard to tell unless u have a real coach & fake side by side. Even so if the fake is a good quality fake, you'll find it hard to tell. Also all coach purse have it own serial # inside that u can tell a coach store associate to check authencity for you BUT I heard the fake copy serial # too ( maybe using one real serial # over & over in all their fake ) ( if your source is ebay; you should BEWARE of international sale especially those from china & seller selling huge quantities of coach product by checking their feedbacks { i am stuck with a loudsy quality fake wallet but I learn my lesson } )

im not sure if there are any signs, but it really depends on where you buy it. if its an online store, check to see if there are customer reviews, facts, and general information. if anything is vague, the company might be fake. you could try the coach website which is coach.com i think, they have some smaller purses that are seventy dollars or less and theyre definitly real. your best be to get the real thing is at a coach store or their website. hope i helped.

I personally have received a coupon of this amazing discount shop and picked up one there. Not really impressive with their delivery service speed however did save about 77% and delighted for this discount. The quality is truly good and till today never spot any defects.

I personally have noticed this outlet store and then ordered one there. Not extremely impressive with their shipping speed but does save money up to 70% and very happy to have this discount. The quality is truly decent and also right until now not find any flaws.

Well it depends on where you got it. Like if you got it somewhere legitimate like the actual Coach store or wherever Coach bags are usually sold then it's probably real, but if it's like on the street somewhere or something like that it might be fake. I dunno though.... check the label, see if it's high quality.

it depends where you are buying it first of all.
you should also look inside at the lables. most real ones have a stitching inside that says "this is a genuine coach product" or something like that.
