Many things besides a pregnancy can delay a period; stress, illness, medications, or just the suspicion that you might be pregnant can affect your cycle. If you haven't started in another week, get another test and use it. If you still get a negative, then it's time to contact your doctor.

When I was trying to become pregnant, I managed to think myself out of a period for nearly three weeks at one point!!!

If you are on any medications, work in an environment with chemicals or x-rays, or otherwise do things that are unsafe during pregnancy it would be best to see a doctor now. Otherwise there really isn't any harm in waiting a week, but there isn't really a reason to wait either (except the cost of the visit if you go and then your period starts).

Take care.

As hard as it is, best thing to do is be patient. My girlfriend and I have gone through this several times, with no pregnancies. It is tough to wait it out and be worried, but most of the time its unnecessary. So stay calm and play the wait and see game. I would say 10 days is the limit, and you need to be checked out by a doctor!!!

Two days is a little early. Take the test again in another week.

A change in stress levels or eating habits can alter your cycle.
