My friend does not trust women. He gives me all his paychecks to put into my account so his wife cant take half of it in case of divorce. He first turns his checks into cash and then I put the money into my account so they cant trace were the money went. He also buys houses in my name so if she ever tries to take the house, she will find that its not really his house. He does the same with cars. Now you may think hes taking advantage of me, but i get all the intrest that his money makes and because he buys houses and cars in my name, i have excellent credit and could get a loan for anything. I would not do it otherwise. Now i know he could get into trouble if he gets caught, but can i get in trouble???

Probably not but why would he want to do his wife this way is what amazes me. Why so scared of someone taking advantage of him? No, it doesn't appear he is taking advantage of anyone except his wife. Why live with someone you can't trust or always think they will screw you?

Be very careful with this so called friend. He may be giving you his paycheck to put in your bank account, but do you know for sure of any illegal deals he may have outside his day job. He may give you that excuse about his wife but it might be much more than what he is telling you. He could be doing something illegal and knows that if he gets caught he will loss the houses, cars and anything else he has gotten with this dirty money. And you can be an accomplice if he ever gets caught. Think about it. Also the bank may become suspicious and call your job and ask about your yearly income. The Federal Government wants to know how you have so much money in your account on your yearly salary. If it sounds too good to be true it's not good. Good luck.

My first thought would be that there is something more going on than what he is telling you. That is way beyond a trust problem. Do you know his wife? Doesnt she question anything about money etc. Someone is not being upfront. You probably cant get in trouble legally but the moral issue would bother me.

You could be sued in civil court over concealment of assets, possibly a criminal charge - if you want to know for sure (since no lawyer worth his salt would be on this site due to the $ they'd be missing when doing pro bono here) you should ask this on www.craigslist.org in the legal forum.

You could be charged with a fealany if he ever turned on you. The other way you could get screwed is if he ever lost his job and couldn't keep up the payments then you'd be the one repsonisble for it.

I believe it is illegal. But worse it is just wrong. His wife is entitled to a certain amount by law and if he is hiding this stuff from her what else is he hiding. Sounds like a creep to me.
