Can still vividly recall why Clinton should have been impeached but that part of history is over and too much at stake now for anyone to dwell on his mistakes or lapses in judgment. Let the biographers have at him, enjoy the stories and it ends there as it does with any other president.

Technically he was acquitted in the Senate after the House of Representatives filed Articles of Impeachment against him.

Article I accused Clinton of lying to a Federal Grand Jury about his affair with Monica Lewinsky.

Article II accused Clinton of obstructing justice in the Paula Jones case. To-wit, he dodged answering questions about his relationship with Monica Lewinsky.

The case was tried before the full Senate with William Rehnquist, the Chief Justice of the Supreme Court presiding.

On February 12, 1999 Clinton was acquitted of the allegations.

So technically he's not impeached.

NOT because he took advantage of a White House intern in the Oval Office while his wife slept upstairs. Despicable as that was, it was NOT illegal. He was impeached because he lied to the grand jury under oath, committing perjury. THAT is illegal and an impeachable offense.

Sorry to inform you, but former President Clinton was in fact impeached on Dec. 19, 1998 by the house of representatives, for perjury and obstruction of justice. I think the confusion here is that later he was acquitted of the charges.

Yeah, he lied about a hummer, a really high crime that threatened the very fiber of our nation. I bet 1 out of 2 married men on this website have done the exact same thing. They're just fortunate that they didn't have to do it under oath.

Now, for all those who cheered the Clinton impeachment for perjury and obstruction of justice, please try to explain how you can accept a President, Vice President, Secretary of State and Attorney General who lie with impunity about matters of life and death like war, nuclear weapons, devastating hurricanes.

A majority of the House of Representatives at the time voted to impeach, their actual reason was irrelevant. Some "high crime or misdemeanor"

Who gives a ****? Why are you still worried about that bullshit for anyway? Whether or not Bill Clinton had an affair was none of any body's business. Bill Clinton was one of the greatest presidents this country has had since John F. Kennedy. I'm telling you right now, I'd rather have Bill Clinton or JFK running this country than a Texas war criminal. At least JFK and Bill Clinton didn't destabilize an entire region, bankrupt the country that they were elected to lead, and start a war that has only benefited the cronies of this certain Texas war criminal, not to mention he has broken the back of our military.
