And why are they calling it a war? Because we invaded? The war in iraq is most like the war on drugs. So long as people have free thinking minds, there will never be a time when soiciety's rules wont be broken. The supposed "War" on terror is like waging war against "love". It's ridiculous to its foundation.

It really kills me that rush limbaugh is perpetuating this crap that liberals want to lose the war to gain political points with the people. It's been totally debased, and has no relevance in this discussion. There is no WIN or LOSE. There's dying, and killing, or staying alive and letting live. You conservatives are so cranked to "win" that you'll do and say anything that follows your party's ideals. USE YOUR HEADS. This is a common sense issue. Try to think outside the red. You'll be better people for it.

Im not a liberal, by the way. I'm a democrat.

You cannot "win" the "war" on terror, you can only fight it.

What do we do?
We need a comprehensive plan to punish terrorists, and make it so everyone understands that we will not tolerate it in America.
Follow the guidelines of the 9/11 commission. There's some good stuff in there. It's worth the minutia to read it.
Sponsor organizations around the world that destroy terrorist's infrastructure.
Secure the BORDERS! yes, a conservative idea! holy crap. In order to fight terrorism, we need secure borders, especially our ports where we are most vulnerable.
Sit idly by? I think not. You fight it at home, and sponsor organizations that fight it abroad. The only reason terrorism works in the first place is the human element. Take emotion and religion out of it, and you'll be able to fight it. Don’t do it, and it's your peril.
BE SMART! above all. BE SMART

I wish I could remember who said it, but I have heard it said that wars on nouns never work. Examples: War on Poverty. War on Drugs. War on Terrorism. Never worked, never will.

It's a shame we've wasted so much money.

The rich Republican 'moneychangers'(read your Bible - from an agnostic Canadian - what a combo!) are making and will make a fortune on the 'war' in Iraq. We have the same kinds here. Fortunately we got to stay out of the unneccessary conflict due to a then'(L)iberal' gov't. What's to help with - for crying out loud - 43 attacked a defensless country - never mind Saddam! He started this thing to 'get back' at "The man who tried to kill my dad." W.'s quoted statement about Saddam. Hussein was a 'brute' but his kind have run Arab countries over there for as long as time, per se. There's just as much subterfuge going on in the other countries, but they were more able to defend themselves, although any conflict would eventually have gone in the favor of the USA(one would think) - but how do you 'win' without wiping out the whole dang population???
They 'invented' a crisis that didn't exist and Iraq had nothing to do with what became 'terrorist attacks'. It was Saudis for pete's sake - but we wouldn't attack the 'oil boys' which Bush's family has been 'in bed with' for decades - read about it - look up the docu - I speak the truth!!! 'Nuff said!!

Because they are blind...Terror has always existed and always will! It has been used even by The USA in the past.

A War on terror is not winnable and when Bush and his cronies realize that, our Soldiers will stop dying for nothing!

There is only one way to get rid of Terrorist's...drop nuclear bombs on all the Countries that harbor them "BUT" that will create a new set of problems for the entire planet.

If The USA does that...the Countries that harbor terrorist's and also have nuclear weapons (Like Pakistan), will use them against us as well.

So you see...a War on Terror in reality, is NOT winnable!

Because their crony friends in the big oil companies and private military companies are making a shitload of money off of the government. So as long as the money is raining in for them, the policy of our government is going to be to continue the war in Iraq.

We arent at war with Iraq, we're at war with terrorism. As long as terrorists have nations willing to fund them and train them (like Iran and formerly Iraq) we will have this nasty ugly thing called terrorism which was responsible for the marine barracks bombings in Beirut, the embassy bombings in East Africa, the USS cole bombing, both WTC bombings, the subway attacks on tokyo and Madrid, not to mention the countless attacks on Israel.

The only thing that is ridiculous is libs (like you) that deny terrorism poses a threat and thinkt he best thing to do about it is nothing at all and hope they start liking you.

If the Iraq mission fails, it will mean terrorists will have safe haven in Iraq. The only 2 ways that can happen is if Iraq lets them do it eventually, or we dont give them the support they need and pull out before they are secure enough to stand alone.

Duh.

They like unwinable wars, The War on Terror, the War on Drugs, what's next?

Did you ever read Orwell's 1984?

OK - so if the war is ridiculous - then what do you propose to do to fight terrorism?
Do you plan to just sit idly by and allow terrorists to come to America and kill innocent people?
If you have a viable alternative I would love to hear it.

Why are you, and the Democrats and the insurgents so sure it can't be won?
The war on drugs is something people choose of their free will.
The people in the WTC did not have a choice. They went to work in what they thought was a non- war zone and were attacked and killed.
How does your ilk prepose to defend me, my family, and my country!

"War on terror is like waging war against "love".

Damn, talk about a bad analogy! The war is difficult and will take time and will have ups and downs but it absolutely must and will be won by the western nations. Either that or the west will perish. And that, my lberal pal, ain't gonna happen.
