Okay, I am going to contradict everyone else and say simply that it is impossible to maintain 'constant' brain power. The whole purpose of sleep is to power down and let the brain rejuvenate itself. Now true it has been suggested that we need less sleep than we imagine, but still, we cannot go without sleep. It is required, and so we cannot keep it constant. And should we?

Sure, in a world of multi-tasking it is easy to suggest that we can do a lot of things at the same time. Yes, I can listen to music, watch t.v. and read a book at the same time, but it is difficult to maintain that for very long and actually absorb it all. Things slip but the good news is that you can train your brain to do multiple things. It can be done.

The key, in my mind, is using as much power in the brain as possible, as often as is possible. Don't do simple and easy tasks, make the brain work. Make it do math and paint pictures. Make it guide your body through dance and make it read and write.

I think that has already been accomplished with the advancement of technology and the invention of the computer. a storage and retrieval system to give the human brain a much needed rest, because it operates on a much lower energy level than the electric needed to power up the big brain-computer.

Brain power should not be maintained constant. It has to develop when you start growing.Otherwise you will have milk in the feeding bottle instead of cup at the age of twenty.
