Even if there is, I hope people can find other reasons to be moral than promise of rewards or threat of punishment. If not, then the human race is in a very sorry state.

No. I think the reward for good behavior is the feeling you get when you do good. For years, people have created myth to motivate people to do the "right thing." Look at all the different religions, and all thing they are right and others are wrong. It is in the nature of man to externalize reward "out there." Thus we need to seek reward "out there" and seek approval "out there". Moral behavior is a reward within itself.

My practice for 10 years was with families of murder victims. I watched murders being protected by the system and good people suffering because of their actions. It is certainly compelling to think "they will get their reward in the afterlife", but I doubt that will happen. We must help each other in THIS life.

Yes. I don't know how familiar you are with the Bible but you should be up on it enough to check out what I say. The prophet Elias did not die a physical death, he was transfigured to a heavenly body. Moses was a messenger of God. He died a physical death. Now here is a question for you, presuming that you are familiar with what I just wrote, did we ever hear from Moses again? The answer is yes. Christ took Peter and other diciples up to a spot on a mountain, (read Luke,) there he revealed himself in his heavenly body. There was an aura about him and his face shown like a brilliant light. In the aura stood two men who conversed with him. One was Elias and the other was Moses. They were helping Christ prepare for his trip to Jerusalem. The scriptures reveal that there is a heavenly body and it is in recognizable form and has a voice. This indicates that there is life after death and that there are rewards for good deeds. Enoc, Elias and Moses made it.. why can't you. Read the Gospel of Jesus and you will come across a scripture describing a lawyer who asked Christ what one must do to enter the kingdom of God.. read it and see what Christ had to say. I think you will like what you read and be pleased that yes there is a way for you to enjoy the fruits of moral behavior?

A very good question. My answer is "I hope so". In all the books it is written like it is. But as see that: in this life the evil gets stronger but good gets weaker, I start to lose my faith in heaven or hell. No person has the right to be evil and hurt everyone till he dies. It is not fair. Yes, maybe he'll go to hell afterwards but what about now??? Why do good have to suffer. I do not find this appropriate.

Yes I do believe in an afterlife. I believe in heaven and hell because it talks about them in the Bible, Heaven is a place of perfect peace and contentment with no more pain, suffering or sorrow. Hell on the other hand is a place of constant pain, suffering and sorrow with no rest from the agony. I choose heaven!

I think its better to believe something that makes you happy instead of something that brings you to tears.

while it may be true that the burden of proof rests on the shoulders of the believers, or the people who make claims that god exists. There just isnt enough evidence to say he doesnt. i think the unsure are the neutral ones. the guys in the middle of the forked road, not knowing which road to take.

if you want my advice you will pick the road that makes you the most happiest, and just take what others say with a pinch of salt.

i have faith in God and it continues to grow throughout the years, so i definitely believe in Heaven/hell. i think that God judges your heart, and i wish there was a way i could convince everyone to believe. at first, when i started going to religion class, i believed, but still had my doubts, but i found that if i pray to God to send me an answer and actually have faith that He will send me an answer, He does. Now i dont think that if u ask to win the lottery he will give it to you, but i think He will answer your prayers in His own way, because he already has your life all mapped out....

There is no evidence of this but I am sure people will tell you that there is. I believe in the Faith portion of the end of life, as I do not believe in the religious aspect, but have faith that my soul could live on after my body dies.
