If he likes the claymation people they the W&G people did Chicken Run and Flushed Away, both funny.
If he likes the fact the dog is smarter then the guy - he may like Scubby Do shows. Slapstick stuff in cartoon mode violent but no one gets hurt.

For classic tv it is very rare now a days but there is good children programming on PBS, Disney channel, and Noggin. There is good children programming on those channels. There is some good shows on Nickelodeon but that is for you to decide. I recommend looking at the websites to see if you don't have the channel on your tv. There is Playhousedisney.com, Noggin.com, and PBSkids.org. Chjeck those out and see if they are ok. I hope you find what you are looking for.
