Why wont my drive read CD ROMS?

This could be due to the dust ajammed on the lense clean the cd rom with a cd lense cleanser even after the issue is not solved then its better you buy a new drive instead of reparing the one.

Reinstall the driver, try to CD that came with the drive, make sure that the right software is installed.

Your lense may be dirty. Buy a CD cleaner and put it in the PC.
