There have been numerous wars and diseases and do you think it helps control a rapid population growth? Maybe there are forces at work that help control the population and therefore help in keeping our race from dying out due to lack of resources.

Yes. There are numerous examples of other species fighting "wars". Ants being the biggest example. And disease is certainly natural.

And it seems logical to me that both are a natural result of over-crowding. Disease obviously spreads faster when the population is dense. And tempers run high when people don't get enough personal space, or feel that others are unfairly taking their resources.

War is man made and therefore is not "natural"
Diseases are a result of natural viruses and bacteria so are natural to a point. Some diseases are a result of man made causes such as pollution, deviance, weapons, chemicals ect

However, as far as keeping the population in check, I don't think that the forces are at work.

If you could count the number of people that from man made diesease or from war, and considered the exponential population result from all those people, the earth's population would be too high for the world's resources to handle. However, this in and of itself would reduce the population of the world. Survival of the fittest would remain.

Disease is a natural part of evolution - only the strongest survive, etc. also it pushes our scientists to come up with better solutions to beat the diseases and hence push us further up the evolutionary ladder. We are lucky that the human race actually survived those early aggressive diseases.

Although war comes very naturally to humans -part of our fight or flight - it should eventually be bred out of us genetically as we become more ascension beings. Although, almost all wars are fought over religion beliefs, so I could be wrong about that. I'm not sure if you can be a non-religious ascension being? Since we can't seem to talk out our differences - I'm sure there will naturally be more war.

Conquering is natural, I think. Just look at ant colonies, they use their vast numbers to conquer an area, if anything gets in there way they get eaten, even prey 20 times their size.

look at the grey and red squirrels in england, the greys are bigger and badder, and are pushing the red squirrels out, the reds cant fight them off so they dont get as much food, hence their decline in numbers

its all about survival, we war because we want to ensure our own survival, we want the others resources..some species have adapted to coexist in order to survive but deep down theres still self preservation in there..its instinctual

its why even the most civilized cultures do unthinkable things...like the war on iraq..its no different then troy, its all about resources. we want what the others have, vice versa, they want ours too and if they had the power to take it, you can bet they would.

Absolutely. Even though humans are pretty much the only organisms that create war, it does help to regulate our population. And there is nothing more natural than disease. It regulates all populations and allows organisms to continue to live in their habitat without elements such as overgrazing and pollution.

Whenever you want to know if something is natural, ask yourself if it exists to any other animal besides people. For these two questions: every living thing gets diseases, and fighting occurs with every living thing to some degree. They say if ants had nuclear weapons, the world would be destroyed in an hour...

Don't be silly, war and disease are just mistakes of man. The natural balance of life does not require it. Old age will do the work for nature

I do believe in some respects that it is "natures'" way of keeping the population down. As morbid or sad as it may seem, if we had no illnesses or wars or no un-natural deaths we would be severly over-populated.

Wars and diseases have been around since the beginning of time being recorded, so I guess they are a natural part of our existence.

???

Most disease isn't man-made, so, yes, it's natural.

We've found much better ways to control population growth than the horrors and misery of war and disease.
