One explanation: they're jealous because liberals have more fun. Instead of joining us and having fun themselves, they want to stop us from enjoying life and make us as miserable as they are.

Another explanation: Fear. They've got certain black-and-white, all-or-nothing beliefs, and that saves them from having to think or make decisions on their own. They see other people (who think differently) as a threat to their ability to avoid decision-making and thinking.

I just wish they'd understand that I for one don't want to make them agree with me, or do what I do. If it was up to me, they could live any way they want - as long as they don't interfere with ME living the way I want.

Live and let live, right? What's so hard to understand about that?

Hate sells. Hate makes you forget your own faults. Hate can get people motivated to do things they normally wouldn't do.

Not that all conservative christians are hateful...look at the Amish and Mennonites. But, they don't run their mouths and they don't have feel-good Megachurchs that preach the virtues of wealth = good Christian and gay bashing = good Chrisitan behavior.

It's hard being a Christian in an era where hate and selfishness are the main virtues espoused by the most vocal of "Christian" groups.

It occurs to me that their mentality may be in its death throes as the rest of the world becomes civilized, so it has become like a rabid dog backed into a corner and is lashing out ... one last time.
The American South is among the most barbaric regions in all the industrialized world.

No. Religious right conservatives believe in promoting things that are good and discouraging things that are bad.
Sometimes when they criticize and discourage bad things and bad behavior, it is interpretted by those on the left as hateful.

NOt really. You take John Edwards wife getting cancer for example; conservatives wishes his wife well.

But when Tony Snow got cancer, the left all but stood up and applauded. You got blogs wishing pain and suffering on him and wishing death. Is this an example of the good moral character of the left?
