I work at Iams. None of our dry foods are involved in the pet food recall. I've listed some web sites where you can find more information. Or please give us a call if you have more questions (800-882-1591).

I must respectfully disagree with the person who said Iams is only fueled by greed. Iams is actually made up of many people who love dogs and cats. We are devastated that our products are involved in this recall because we understand the pain this is bringing to so many people. We are working overtime to respond to the consumers who have contacted us about their pets. We are reimbursing consumers for vet bills brought about by the recall. If we wanted to be greedy there are all kinds of ways we probably could have avoided taking any actions.

Thank you to the person who mentioned www.IamsTruth.com. I really appreciate your comments!!!!

In regards to our ingredients, we absolutely do not use meat from diseased, dying or disabled animals in any of our products. We do not use rendered dogs or cats, cow brains, or road kill.

Thank you. I will now get off of my soap box.

As of late Friday NO Iams Dry Cat Food
Science Diet Hill’s Prescription
Diet™ m/d™ Feline Dry Food ONLY

Hill's Pet Nutrition, Inc. Reiterates Only One Product Recalled, Prescription Diet™ m/d™ Feline Dry Food
Topeka, KS (March 31, 2007) - Hill's Pet Nutrition, Inc. today is issuing this press release directly to veterinarians and pet owners to clarify a potentially confusing headline in a press release issued by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration on March 30, 2007. To ensure complete understanding by consumers and veterinary professionals, Hill’s is reiterating that there is only one product affected by Hill's voluntary recall announcement yesterday: Hill’s Prescription Diet™ m/d™ Feline Dry Food. This is the only product Hill’s currently sells in the United States and Canada that contains wheat gluten from any supplier. No other Hill's Prescription Diet® or Science Diet® products are affected by this voluntary recall.

Hill's took this voluntary action to recall Hill’s Prescription Diet™ m/d™ Feline Dry Food in consultation with the FDA which reports the detail of this single product recall on its web site. However, some consumers and veterinarians have been confused by the headline on the FDA press release.

Hill's Pet Nutrition's press release from yesterday, March 30, 2007, accurately reflecting all the details of this matter, appears below and at Hillspet.com. For more information, consumers can contact the company at 1-800-445-5777 or visit www.HillsPet.com for details.

The only dry food I've heard so far that is being recalled is the Hill's Science Diet Prescription MD Cat Food. Some of the same wheat gluten went into it, apparently.

Check your ingreidents of your dogs food for wheat gluten.... if it has it and it matches the dates on the prev. canned food recall dates - you can bet there is probably a recall on it if not now, then sometime in the near future. Today they said it was something that had contaminated the wheat glueten, and Peta is calling for any product with that companies glueten in it, to be recalled, of course that particular company whats to delay the process, because they know they are about to loose a ton of more money!

If your pet is or is going to be affected by this recal or the recal to be.....best bet is to get a good physical exam done on your dog, have some minor blood work to test the function of the kidneys, and put them on a more natural diet (Wellness, Inova etc.) with out wheat glueten or any wheat in it.

So far It's only the Hill's Science Diet DRY CAT food that is recalled in the dry foods.
Iam's isn't a good food, but likely to be the next dry recalled..

Even if Iam's not on the recall list-do not buy it because they mistreat animals. In fact, avoid them untill they will stop cutting chunks of animal flesh of live beings to use for cruel testing. Just say no to Iam's. Google Iam's animal cruelty to check more.
