Human beings found all kinds of vicious and clever ways to slice, dice, bash, burn, and mutilate each other for thousands of years before the invention of gunpowder and firearms. I am sure the mayhem would go merrily on unchecked without them. With no weapons allowed, we would simply go back to fists, feet, and teeth again like primitive man.

I'd assume so.. Of course I'm under the assumption that all Major weapons disappeared...

hmmm.. Looks like I'm against the majority here.. I agree that guns don't create evil, but a coward can shoot someone from 100 yards away.. I think it'd take a little more "balls" to approach somebody with a knife.. I just saw on the news that a 2 year old shot a man.. Possibly that 2 yr old could throw a knife and cause the same amount of damage but I highly doubt it.

There is no F'ing doubt that the world would be safer!!!!

People would find other ways to kill each other. Maybe not as fast or as efficient as guns, but dead is dead. Ask Julius Caesar about gun violence since he was stabbed to death. David used a sling to kill Goliath. That is a rock and a leather strap. Archery is still a viable tool for killing. The only reason it isn't used anymore is the invention of firearms. With firearms gone, archery and bladed weapons would make a reappearance. So, the world would be safer from long ranges.

no.. someone said it would be as safe then as it was before guns were created.. NOT TRUE. Children today (adults too) aren't being trained to be respectful, caring and considerate. I know people that make it their mission to screw someone everyday.. Children are being taught that it's ok. to have what you want even if you have to steal it or kill someone to get it.. I like to think that for the most part, Guns keep me safer.. I would hate to say "you can't take my car or rape me...I am going to get my mace.." lol.. and you know that anything that is outlawed people will find a way to get them anyway. So, guns are not the problem. It's that people have no respect for other people, their life or their property.

Call me foolish to think that the nuclear weapon is the most humane weapon ever devised, provided that a person is caught in the primary blast zone, or ground zero if you will. Someone could drop one on me, I wouldn't care, unless I was caught in the secondary blast or fallout zones. This is where you will find the extent of human misery. All the way down to people choking on a dust particle that used to be me.

If all of the guns were gone. People would just revert to using tools that preceded the invention of the firearm.

No. People knew how to kill one another LONG before there were guns.

Its not the tool you need to get rid of, but the motivation behind its use. I can kill you with my bare hands, so a gun is not the issue, but my desire to kill. Get it? Guns are not evil, man is.
