I think a movie is a good first date because it takes some of the pressure off of you. Go to dinner after the movie, you'll have a lot to talk about then and it will be an easy conversation. Take the time to get to know her.

What sort of things do you both enjoy? Do you bowl? Skate? Go to museums or art shows? Picnic? I'd shy away from the whole first-date movie scene, simply because movies aren't very good for getting to know if you want to have a second date. It's all about interaction. Pick something that will give you a chance for conversation other than the office or the special effects and casting credits, but will also provide topics if the conversation starts to lag.

She's a co-worker so keep in mind that if all doesn't go well you'll have to see her for the duration of the employment.First of all you need to finalize your arrangements! If you don't make it clear that you want to take her out she won't take you seriously and you'll fall into the friend zone. With that said I'd say try some place where you can talk that is easy going with no pressure of romance in the air. Try some place you've been before and had fun, I don't know her or attractions offered in you area but keep it lite and above all relax and have fun.

I'm not sure how often you get to talk or know each other at work... but a movie is okay if you already know each other a bit. If not, it could be awkward.
But, if you don't know each other that well, something more interactive might be a nice like dinner, or a long walk together in a nice place... or some combination of the two.
Or something fun, if you both are active people (bowling?, tennis?)
Good luck in any event.

Since she's a coworker, you want to get to know her better, and you are clearly a bit nervous about this, just go out to lunch together. That is a normal thing for coworkers to do, but it can still be considered a date. I think that there should be less pressure at lunch time than in the evening, and lunch at a cheery restaurant is a great setting for getting to know each other comfortably.

Movies generally aren't the best for a first date. You hardly have any interaction between one another.

Maybe just start with something casual with a little more room to get to know her. Going out for coffee is usually a good place to start.

No

In a movie, you cant talk to eachother and that is a bad first date. You barely know her, so something where you can talk and laugh would be much better. Bowling, pool, darts, anything you can do together would be great.
