Total lack of law enforcement. Cherry picking enforcement. The total breakdown of Americas' leadership and law enforcement agencies.
Over 300 laws regarding guns, but we need more.
Over 100 laws regarding illegal entry into the country, but we need more.
War on drugs...what a joke
War on poverty, another joke.
War on crime, even bigger joke.
10% of the U.S. workforce employed by the government, 30% about to be on Social Security. Leaves less than 40% (allowing for underage population) to support this massive budget failure. We'll probably pass more laws forcing higher taxes to support this group.
The "it takes a village" mentality of our government. Many of the problems coming from our younger generation, have been caused by the village passing laws to tell everyone how to raise their kids, instead of allowing the parents to raise their kids.
Law Enforcement...EQUAL Law Enforcement for everyone !!!

I think one of the more serious problems in this country is homelessness and the fact that there are so many people in this country that live in poverty and are one paycheck away from becoming homeless. Our minimum wage is ridiculous, nobody could live with a family and make ends meet on that amount of money. I live in Florida and there are some beautiful places to live here and it is a vacation mecca but the dark side of that is the fact that the weather is so nice here year round that there is a very high homeless population. I guess people figure if they have to live in the street it may as well be warm outside. There are tent cities here full of homeless people. This is America, its just mind blowing to me at times. Our economy caters to the rich and they keep getting richer and the poor have no options. So I guess my answer would be the economy and the poor have been neglected by our government the most. A very close second is our health care system which kinda falls under the same category because if you have one of those minimum wage jobs you probably don't have health benefits offered to you either.

Health care. 47 million Americans without ANY health care and probably twice that number with woefully inadequate health care coverage. Health care costs have risen almost 60% during the 6 years of Bush while the average American income has declined 2.7% and what is the Bushies answer? They want to continue giving the upper 1% a tax cut while they see if they can increase the $2.7 trillion national debt even higher

Declining integrity of people in leadership position both private and public despite increasing number of legislations. We can laugh at developing nations' corruption, and yet we don't look at the mirror ourselves.
Declining ownership to ones responsibility, at individual level, family level, community level and government level. We become a nation of obese people because too many of us do not take responsibility of our diet, exercise and non-material life. We become a nation of debt because too many of us do not take responsibility of living within our means.
We can only get better when more leaders live by example of high integrity and take responsibility of their actions. This applies to both at home and on international scene.
