Each person is different therefore, each person has a different learning style.

Some people like being around others because the like the competition of knowing the answer first.
Others prefer to have the full attention of the teacher at all times in a one-on-one situation. (tutoring)
Still others want to learn what they want at the time they want. (self-teaching) These people are usually the readers and thinkers of our population.

So if you like the one-on-one method then that is how you should learn. You are unique in your learning style, your talents, and your mental capacity. There are no other people on this earth that are like you so learn the best way you can and enjoy the experience. :-)

Tutoring provides better test results, so that is what I use for my children. Learning with other people could work in some cases where the people are intelligent, dedicated and trying to solve a problem.

Autonomous learning whereby you determine what you want or need to learn and then you go about finding a way to learn it works really well.

The best teaching method is to allow the student to teach. A creative teacher will allow students to become subject matter experts and teach something that they have learned.

Nothing re-enforces learning more than teaching.

Depends on the student. I prefer to pick up a book and teach myself.
