i come across a lot of dumb people on a regular basis. for example, i was in the dept. store the other day clothes shopping, the person ahead of me was paying for their items. the cashier could not figure out what 9 - 3 was. she had to call for the manager so she could figure it out. even she had trouble. finally after about 5 minutes, they figured out that it was six. true story. there are a lot of dumb people out there and i seem to be their magnet because i deal with them everyday. good luck.

I'm British and I've only visited Brooklyn, NY and Inglewood, CA but I find the average American much more friendly and open than British people with no sign of the dumbness you mention. Perhaps you've been watching too much "America's Dumbest Criminals" - good show, lousy presenter

Speaking as an American, I would assume it's probably about the same ratio as every other country. Ours just seem to get a lot more limelight than the more intelligent Americans.

I am an American myself, and I'd have to agree. If most of us voted for George Bush, then we must be.
But that doesn't mean that others people *aren't* stupid. Don't let your ignorance control you.
