In the US you always hear about whether something is politically correct but in countries like Israel, they do whatever they feel is necessary to have a positive outcome for their cause and they don't care what anyone says about them. The US, especially those to the left, are always worried about stepping on someones toes.Which is right and why?

This obsession of being politically correct is being carried too far. It needs to stop in favor of doing what is correct.

Considering the extent of hatred and violence being preached by factions of one of the world's major religions, the US is being put into the position you relate as applicable to Israel - do what is necessary to have a positive outcome for the US.

Don't pin it on the left. I hate the PC b.s. as much as anyone. It's much more important to look at things realistically and accept the fact that in public service, you are going to offend someone with almost anything you ever do. Then get over it and do what needs to be done.

People could also learn to be a little more realistic and accept that every little off-hand comment people make is not reason to send the dogs after them. So Kerry screwed up a speech... it was a mistake, leave the guy alone. So Bush is an idiot... he doesn't mean to be offensive, he's just stupid... again, leave the guy alone and let him do his job, he's the freekin president for god's sake!

Believe it or not everyone tries to be pc. A politician will try to have handler and political advisor to prevent possible pitfalls of saying something that can mean another thing. When the action of saying something wrong occurs then the need for a spin doctor. When people practice various topics they become more proficient and learn from their mistakes. The wiser ones are able to avoid traps but yes tend to be too mainstream and a bit boring.

99% of political "correctness" is asinine . When educators label a 5 year old a sexual pervert for hugging a classmate - but think it's acceptable for Bill Clinton to BE one - exactly who is being served here ?
