copperheads answer is great just want to add that this type of pregnancy or production of infirtile eggs is a little more dangerous on the whole they usually produce less eggs than if they were fertile.(not always). and you are not expecting to see a pregnant reptile. because there is no male. when they do have infirtles. they could become eggbound and you may not recognize the symptoms. eventually you will but sometimes a few precious days are lost. this is to serve just as a warning to reptile owners if they do have a female just be aware of this so if something is wrong and the abdomen is larger this is a possibility. I know lizardgirl has her iguana fixed because she had a tradgedy just because of this. but all credit to copperhead he has the right answer.

It's not unusual in many species of lizards for a female to produce eggs without the presence of a male. In most cases, the eggs will be infertile, but there are instances where females are parthenogenic - meaning that the eggs will hatch into female "clones" of the mother - this has been found in some monitor lizards, whiptails, and some others: https://notes.utk.edu/Bio/greenberg.nsf/9b4b43f8789f398785256419006803bd/303e57ae338f9d0d85256a3800173fa1?OpenDocument

Well it depends. if your anole has breed
with another anole already the female
will store extra fertalizer. If she wants to have children she will fertalize herself.
