I try a new solid 3-4 days after the last 'new' introduced solid. A week is a long time. You'll know within 3 days (if it came out the other end okay or not).

I believe that it is recommended to try a new solid after 3-4 days of no reaction. My son is 13 months and we started him on cereal around 6 months. No problems so far!

Well you just don't won't to start your baby on solids yet because if you do that will cause him to be over weight. Trust me I know I have two of my own. But if you do don't give him solids three times a day, maybe once a day at 5months all baby try's to move fast but don't let him move faster then he needs too cause it might become a probable.

You don't have to wait, but a lot of folks wait several days to a week to identify allergies or problem foods. My cousin's daughter had whatever was for dinner from 5 months old (and this is true in most of the world, I was surprised to find). The only food problem she has is peanut butter.

I went from rice cereal -oat cereal -wheat cereal. You are supposed to wait 3-7 days before introducing anything new.

I tried one new food every 3-5 days.
As soon as he's eating rice cereal he can immediately move onto other solids.
Keep it varied and if at first he doesn't like something wait and introduce it again later.

try a new food every week...just to make shure that he/she is not allergic to it...give him/her time to get used to the new food.
