Don't feel bad, don't take it personally. Maybe he's an angry person, or is going through a bad moment, or gets rid of his anger only when he writes, or whatever.
Do your job the right way, and do your best... make sure of that. THEN... just let it be.
Feel proud of your accomplishment of making your life and your boy's life. Single mothers who care and love their kids and work that hard pull out MIRACLES every-single-day. Your boss should SALUTE you for that , you know?
See... it's your boss... he is not related to you in any other personal way; deal with criticism when it comes from a good person, that loves you, and that you respect and love back. Don't take it from a jerk who maybe doesn't even know he is acting like a jerk.
Breath in, girl... breath out, and let it go. Keep it simple.
Cheer up! Your life will light up when you come home and see your boy's face light up the second he sees you! That's what it's all about, isn't it!

its hard to say when you say hes rude to you in mail, i assume you mean email? and some people are more sensitive then others and maybe your misinterpreting it, maybe not? if its not too stressful for you maybe you just need to learn to deal with it, don't let yourself get upset over it. If your not able to then i assume your going to need to start looking for another job, do it while you still have this one and leave on a good note. I bet after i send this I'm going to see a bunch of answer where everyone says keep all the emails or letters and send them to his boss,,, but i can assure you this will do nothing for you unless they are just way extreme emails. it just going to cause you tons of stress embarrassment and make an uncomfortable situation even more uncomfortable.

Unfortunately, there's not much you can do since he is your boss and you really need the job. I would, however, keep some of those rude emails just in case it does continue to get worse, you will have proof to back up your complaint if it comes to that.

if you need money, and the pay is good at that job, suck it up, vent at home and try to stick with it. its hard but its better than being unemployed, or kindly talk to your boss. and if none of those work, find new jobs to apply for and if they employ you, then you can quit your job now.

If his emails are rude then simply copy them and give them to the boss above him. If you are justified then he'll get his tail handed to him and no more problems for you.
*****************************************************************
A WORD OF ADVICE...You might let somebody else who you trust that has experience in business read the e-mails first to see if you have a legitimate complaint before you pass them forward.

Even bosses have someone to answer to (if they don't own the business). Go up the ladder until you can get the jerk to stop harassing you.

I would ask to speak with him alone and sort out his childish behaviour, say you have a problem and its upsetting you, if that fails he is not worth working for.
