I have progressed rapidly with regard to healing and my injury. My doctor stresses more movement in my fingers but honestly I can't make a fist. I can bend them and I only feel about 20% of three of the fingers. It is still only the third week but I am fearful that I may never regain full strength in my right hand. Maybe he is just pushing me because he thinks that I am faking it. I plan on walking more this weekend and I am going to start jogging next week. I can't do much else until after I start therapy. I had about 50 stitchs taken out today and I am on my third and final cast. I think it takes a while for the body to get used to the steel.

I went through a car accident and had an arm cast and a leg cast (brace) and I wasn't supposed to put any pressure on my right leg or use my left arm that I broke a bone in the for arm and in the wrist I have metal in the for arm and I had a pin in the wrist, I broke my right leg at the knee and it split wide open from one side to the other and my ankle split open and I broke the articules tendon and I still have no feeling in my right foot. I was supposed to have a physical therapist come to my house because I couldn't drive and then they wouldn't send anyone, so I took off the casts off and stood up and stopped taking my pain meds and dealt with it. I am now walking and using my left arm and able to make a fist and walking. If you want to do it you can, just tell yourself you can and you will!
Good Luck and just be strong, I did it on my own you can do it with therapy.

PERFECT TRUST

Oh, for the peace of a perfect trust, My loving God, in thee; Unwavering faith that never doubts Thou chooses best for me!
Best, though my plans be all upset;
Best, though the way be rough;
Best, though my earthly store be scant;
In Thee I have enough.
Best, though my health and strength be gone, Though weary days be mine,
Shut out from much that others have; Not my will, Lord, but Thine!
And even though disappointments come, They, too, are best for me, To wean me from this changing world, And lead me nearer Thee.
Oh, for the peace of a perfect trust
That looks away from all;
That sees thy hand in everything,
In great events or small.
That hears Thy voice - A Father's voice - Directing for the best.
Oh, for the peace of a perfect trust,
A heart with Thee at rest.

I am sorry that you are having to live in such pain. If I knew what to say or do to make you feel better, I would.

All I can say is I hope you feel better soon, and do all the physio therapy, that they recommend, and you will be on the mend, and stronger in no time.

Give yourself more time. Your body just needs time to get back to full strength. Stay positive.
