It's a tie between "Casablanca" and "African Queen." I love these movies and will stop whatever I'm doing to watch them when they come on the old movie channel. I should just buy the DVDs, but I like being surprised by them.
Another great one is "It Happened One Night" with Clark Gable and Claudette Colbert. Really cute.

Why has everyone overlooked Clerks? That is by far my favorite Black and White movie. Not to mention that movie was made on a very small budget.

My favorites are Penny Serenade with Cary Grant and Irene Dunn and In Name Only with Cary Grant and Carol Lombarde. Both are beautiful love stories.

All right my favorite black and white movie has to be Kevin Smith's Clerks...that movie was shot in black and white and is really an awesome movie. I know it's not your standard old time movie..cause it was shot in 1994. But Clerks has romance and comedy and its hilarious.
