I heard that wherever it was the contamination started may have also affected dry dog food and not just wet as they originally thought.

Rat poison was found in dog and cat food made by a company called Menu Foods.

It's rat poison! It's also in cat food! And it's killing dogs & cats! They have found it in some of the best brands too.
