The binding on my algebra textbook is very loose when I first put a book cover on it and thats how it happened. Is there anything I can do to fix this?

If it's your book, take it to your local library and they will send it in with their bindery shipment. It will probably cost about $10. If it's not your book, ask same library person if they have any Book Tape and can help you repair the book. Book tape won't damage the paper (turn yellow, etc.) like scotch tape.

Sure. It's quite easy to fix. All you need do is put some packing tape on the inside of each cover, half on the hard cover and the other half folded on the inside page. You should do this with the book completely open or it won't open properly after.

Pull it back very carefully and apply glue to the spine then put it underneath several books to weigh it down until its dry. Pax - C.
