when you live the house or you go to bed? i know people that do it and i know people that don't.is it an act of fear or is it something that you just do.

I always lock my doors & windows, I always lock my car doors too. It's just safer thats all! The odds are nobody would try to come in, but I don't want to take the chance anyway, it's not worth it. If locking my doors could save my life, then it would be pretty stupid not to do it!

Yes, I lock the doors all the time. Why would I give a stranger easy access to my house when I'm sleeping or if I went somewhere. It's just common sense.

My Back door to the house is unlocked 24/7 my front door is locked only when I go to bed

I grew up in a rural setting, have lived in cities and now retired back in a rural setting.
When I was 13 years old we never locked our doors and then a family nearby was murdered and raped. Since then my house and car doors are always locked.

My doors are always locked even when im in the house, i have a 2yr old and 1 time he got out the front door luckily i noticed and since then they are always locked!

I always lock up when leaving or if I take a shower & I am home alone and especially at night when I am sleeping.
I know if the big bad wants to get in badly enough he can but I just feel safer.

I don't but I have a friend who doesn't. According to him, if someone wants to break into your house, they'll do it whether or not the door is locked. I guess I'm paranoid though and feel a locked door will protect me even though I know he's right.

I always lock the door when i leave the house...i dont usually lock it when going to bed...
it's just safety procedures i guess
