There are 4 1/4's in a single quarter of a pound or anything else.
A quarter of a quarter is 1/16th, so it would take 4/16th's of a pound to equal one quarter of a pound which is the same as 4 quarters to equal one quarter of a pound

4(1/4)(1/4) = 1/4
