I have my own answer because I think that I can tell. My wife on the other hand thinks that finding someone attractive is indistinguishable from having feelings for them.

She also claims that she doesn’t find looks as attractive as she finds people’s personalities attractive!

Is she in love with every friend she has? I can honesty say, at first, and or until she finds something wrong.

She rarely accepts my take on things so I need some quality input. These constant crushes are really annoying.

Love in these matters would be better described as a choice one makes to commit to the "highest good" of another person.

Lust is having made a choice to appeal to ones own "highest good"

I'm honestly not 100% sure. when you think about it, 'love' is something you can't describe, right? and lust is describable, and there are 100's of different ways to describe it. So in one way, yes I believe I, personally, can tell the difference between 'Love' and 'Lust'. But in that same way, I don't think I can tell the difference between having 'Feelings' for a person, and being in 'Love' with them.

It's a complex thing that only those that go through it, can understand.
(At least in a way.)

But I suppose to put something simply, I would have to say that 'Love', is a feeling. And full of much. 'Lust', is also a feeling. But empty. 'Lust' is something you can explain with science. 'Love' isn't.

Love is a true feeling for someone you're intimately in love with, and nothing should matters as long as you have each other. Lust is just an infatuation and doesn't mean a thing but more of a materialistic stuff. It's not bad to admire people but don't over do it.

Love is finding the other half of you. You feel complete. You feel that when you are not with the other one you are missing a piece of yourself. You are lonely when you are apart. Your dreams become their dreams.

Lust is being attracted to the other person. Not really caring about their feelings. Just wanting one thing. You don't necessarily want to know them intellectually. No strings attached.

One is between the ears. The other is between the legs. Finding someone attractive does not mean lust. We can all enjoy a beautiful sunset. The word attractive indicates visual. Liking someone is mental, not visual.

lust is looking at a person and saying to yourself " i need some of that". love is a much more beutiful thing. love is really getting to know someone, and being friends first. knowing a person is an intimate thing. so is caring for a person. if all you care about is getting off with that person, you aint in love. dig?
