Yes....when you consider what Aaron had to go through (racist fans hating him because he broke a white mans record) he should have an understanding of the hating that Bonds has gotten. Dont get me wrong Bonds brought on his own problems and Aaron did nothing to deserve what he got but as a human being and fellow athlete he has a better understanding of what any professional has to go through. It is interesting how people have forgiven Sosa and now he is a feel good story, Bonds never got caught cheating (although we all know he did) but why is Sosa, Giambi and a laundry list of others forgiven while Bonds isnt? Aaron knows as well as any honest with themselves person that cheating is, has been and always will be part of professional sports. Regardless of the cheating Bonds has accomplished some incredible feats and this spring has continued to dominate opponents (and we know he isnt using at the moment). And in my lifetime I can honestlt say i have never seen anyone who gets pitched around even remotely close to the way teams try to avoid Bonds so love him (certainly not me, I agree that the record would be tainted) or hate him (most choose this option) he will ultimately accomplish the ultimate record in baseball. So Yes....I think if i were Aaron even if I disliked the way he did it I would show class from a personal standpoint and be candid during the inevitable interviews and express some respect and not hide any distain for the tainting of both the record and baseball in general (and remind everyone that ANY cheater deserves the same as Bonds).

Absolutely. That's pretty much of a sports tradition. Hank has integrity and class; I think he knows that if he DIDN'T show up to witness Bonds breaking his record, it would be viewed as a diss to Bonds, and/or sour grapes by Aaron. Either way, there are no winners. I don't know if Hank has a problem with Barry, or Barry's' possible steroid use, but it would probably be best if he took the high road, was there to congratulate Barry when he did it, do the photo ops-everybodys happy, its a good show of sportsmanship for the kids, and it would reflect well on baseball.

First, Bonds can only reach that number if he gets pitches to hit. He won't.

Second, just because Bonds has absolutely no class doesn't mean that the same is true of Aaron. Should 21 pitchers be so insanely stupid as to allow HR's to Bonds, rest assured that Aaron will show up. He doesn't have to like it, but he won't show it.

Hank Aaron is nothing but class and he will be in attendance during the final countdown. If I was Aaron, the obligation to "pass the torch" means more than the drama surrounding Barry. It must be done.

Yes because like Hank Aaron I am not an asshole like some people. Now if I had something going on in my personal life that may be different ( ie weddings ,funerals job, something related)

If I'm Hank Aaron I want a picture of me at my house holding up a sign that says, "Cheater" with both middle fingers in the air.

No, but if he's still alive he should go to the game where A-Rod or Pujols breaks Bonds' record.
