Profit from oil, I am almost sure of it. Unsettle the middle east and the price of oil goes up and so do profits. Just look what is happening today as a result of what Iran is doing. Bush and Cheney held a meeting early in his presidency with the big oil company's, they were suppose to be setting energy policy, the minutes of the meeting are sealed and held secret. I wonder if this war was not the result of that meeting. It would be a bully way for Bush to pay back his oil buddies for their generous campaign contributions. I think they are still contributing today to keep the war going as he is so adamant about us being there. .

NONE of yours

1. We had a cease fire agreement with Iraq after the Gulf War. Saddam refused to honor it.

2. Since we could not see what he had, and we knew that he admitted to having WMDs, we could not risk him having and using them, especially after 9-11

Iraq was no direct threat to the USA, their military was very limited, and they were contained.

Bush lied about the reasons for going to war.

Wish I knew. We have never been told a valid reason. Any reason given to date has been proven to be inaccurate or a lie.
