With the new bill in Congress that will make the troops withdraw of Iraq by March 2008, what will happen to Iraq? Iran has always been a threat even more than Iraq was and they actuallly have nuclear weapons. Ahmanidejad is a force to be reckon with and I don't think he is going to sit on his behind when we leave. Can anyone admit that Iran will invade Iraq and probably ally themselves with the Shiite majority. Is withdrawal this early really good and beneficial for the Middle East? I'm against the war but I think pulling out is going to make us weaker. I hope the Democratic Congress can see this and come up with another plan.

Answerman- I agree we can't babysit Iraq anymore. But if a bigger conflict erupts in the Middle East regarding Iran, how can we ignore it? I think in the long run is not going to benefit us. I see Irsrael as the only good country in the Middle East and they might be destroy by Iran.

The preamble to the constitution of the theocratic Islamic Republic of Iran states: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Iranian_constitution
"The Assembly of Experts fram[ed] the Constitution...[after input] by the government...with the hope that this century will witness the establishment of a universal holy government and the DOWNFALL of all others."

I believe that it is the agenda of Iran's leaders to establish a Shiite caliphate (empire) in Iran, Iraq, Syria and Lebanon. When the US withdraws its troops from Iraq, Iran may not have to "invade" Iraq. Iraqis may rise up and overthrow their government and vote to be annexed to Iran.

Most of the Shia clerics in Iraq were trained in Iran and have allegiance to Iran. Geopolitical boundaries are meaningless in Islam.

You kind of forget that there are other players in the mid east who would not like to see Iran take over Iraq. Saudi Arabia is one of them, Turkey another. Israel would not like to see it either. There is a time that the Iraqi people themselves are going to have to step up to the plate and take a few swings. Right now we are baby setting between them and not getting anywhere. 100 more deaths this week 500 or so for the week. We will never solve the problem militarily, we need to get all parties together and find out what they want for Iraq and let them do it.

Iran remembers when Iraq invaded them, and the war ended 8 years later. Iraqis are worried they want revenge.

The USA needs to give the Iraqis all the weapons and training they need.....then we need to leave.
