does anyone else out there think the world is a really dark and depressing place?

or is it just me? everything looks really bleak to me these days even on the sunniest day everything looks black.

I feel you completely. Some days I want to crawl in a hole and just sleep these years off. But I mean it's like they say in Little Miss Sunshine "the years you suffer are the years you learn the most about yourself. Without the suffering, you learn nothing."

When I was a teenager and into my early 20's I thought so. I was always so melancholy and nothing gave me joy. I starting seeking answers by reading spiritual books and I stopped the partying, drinking, etc., and became a solitary person. I let the guys go too and searched for my "self." Now, years later, I don't feel that way, and I am a mature adult. It took going through some things and facing things I really did not want see about myself, but they say the truth hurts, but I say, it is also very healing. You are probably mildly depressed, but keep on keeping on, it will pass. You are on the edge of a big breakthrough. Keep your head high and your spirit light. Don't let it get the best of you. What you are feeling is normal. God bless you, and I don't use that term lightly, either.

Hi there..some days yes. But then I pick myself up and remind myself that it's partly in my head and I don't have to feel this way; it all depends on me to change (in a good, relaxing way). And then, I think that even though some people were mean or something in the last few days, who knows what was happening in their lives too? Maybe they were upset abt something too and taking it out on the wrong person:)

On some of the worse days, I either skip school or work for a few hours and go to a park . It's like a field trip out of the day's routine. It energizes me. And then shopping could also relax me..not for clothes, but maybe something nice for the house..a book..accessories, a bag, key chain..

I also found that praying by myself, concentrating on it and letting go of my negativity, doubts and anxiety makes my spirit sweet and my attitude more relaxed and lighter. I give myself a break, I learn not to judge myself too much:)

So honey, better days are sure to follow; just a little more patience!

I felt that way once upon a time. Very bleak and depressed. Then I gave my life to Christ, and although I still have bad days, I've never been depressed like that again. The light & hope that came with my salvation changed all that.

I think that the community tries to cover it up. Happiness is only one step above sadness.
Everyone just seems to be so satisfied with it. It's just a cycle of words and actions, on and on forever. I keep hoping that something will...change. I don't know how, don't know what.

not everything is that horrible sometimes things are really sh*tty but things will perk up soon i promise....
but the world in general is pretty dark and murky

It can be. I'm okay but, with every bill that comes in, the light dims just a little. Until there is no more money then darkness will fall.................

I used to feel something like that... but things have taken a turn in a better way, and now I feel pretty good about life in general... ;-)

hmm your question intreags me i thnk exacly like that soetimes i hate school i have no friends and everything seems to be goin down hill lately.
