I hope not. I wouldn't accept any either.

I hope not. I was raised to appreciate fine food but a dubious family history has made me a teetotaler.

If the waiters gives you a bad look for refusing alcohol it's only because the drinks drive up the total on your bill and they want you to spend more money while you're there. I've been given bad looks for asking for water instead of pop at less fancy places. Same reason.

A good wine will compliment good food.
For example, a St. Emillion with steak, or a Chablis Premier Cru with salmon.
If you can afford to go to a fancy-schmancy restaurant, then it's de rigeur to order fancy wine.

No.
Just because you are at a stately restaurant, does not mean you have to order an alcoholic beverage.

I know it's none of my business, but I say you should disregaurd ettiquette(spelling?).The only reason I've ever eaten at a fancy shmancy resteraunt was for the food.I never care about impressing anyone...except when it benefits me,like in job interviews.
Drink water if you'd like...or Dr. Pepper if they have it.Put your elbows on the table. To hell with culture snobs. They are the reason people are turned off from reading great literature or eating great food.lol sorry for the rant.

Nope - they are even more likely to bring you whatever you would like to drink. It is rude to question why someone does not want alcoholic drinks.

No. You don't have to consume alcohol if you don't want it. Just decline when it's offered. And don't let anyone pressure you into drinking.

No.Smart move. They charge more by the glass than it costs by the bottle at a store...and if you don't want to drink, you don't have to.
