I have a Motorolla Razr v3 (Its the model right before C was released.)
I has riding my bike to school and short story shorter, my phone is dead.
The hinge snapped, so everything above the keypad is gone.

I'm going to the Cingular store tomorrow and plan on getting a new phone, does anyone know how it works?
I mean, how it broke, I can it come close to saying its covered by the warranty.
My friend had a similar problem, and I believe he paid 40$ for a new phone and had two more years added on to the year and a half he still had left.

Does anyone know how it works?

If you have full phone insurance on your phone from Cingular then you can get the same model with a one time payment of around $50.00. The only requirement is that you can not report a claim of your phone until you have had phone insurance for about a month on your rate plan. Contact and ask about phone insurance from Cingular Customer Care.

As far as getting a new phone and signing up for another 2 years. From what I know Cingular does not let you sign up for another two years and get another brand new phone until you are at least 21 months into your contract.

The last alternative is if you cannot renew your contract is to pay for the phone full price.
