You can sign up for www.freecycle.org to get used baby items for free. This is a free website that allows people to post "wanted" items and items they are offering, all for free. For example, I might have a set of books that I want to give away, so I post an offer message. People email me and I pick who I want to give them to. That person comes and picks them up. It is arranged by location (usually state, then city). You can post a 'wanted' item telling people what you want and they will email you if they have it.

Look for resale shops. We have one around here called Once Upon A Child. They sell new and gently used baby clothes and items for great prices. Onesies are between $1 and $5. If you can't find one of those, try Ebay. Alot of people will sell sets of baby clothes for really cheap. Target is reasonable as well. You can actually get brand new stuff from Gap,The Childrens Place and Old Navy if you shop the clearance section. I have found great stuff there for next to nothing. Outlet shops are also a good option if you have any around you. Good luck!

My favorite place to go to get lots and lots of clothes for a newborn is the Target Clearance section. Target doesn't have a huge selection after size 12 months, but, until then, they've got all kinds of things! It's also a good place to check for good prices on toys and other things. This is an awesome thing for you to do for your new nephew!!!

Yard sales are just starting up again where I live, so they probably are where you live too. Our local TV station has a free classifieds section, so you could check to see if yours does too on their website. You could put a "wanted" ad on there, or look to see what other people are selling.
To find the best deals in stores you just have to be diligent. Somehow I got onto JCPenney's mailing list and they send me about 4 $10 gift certificates each year (I think it was because I bought my crib from them). Then I just go in and find items on clearance (they often have clearance items for a couple of bucks) and it basically works out to free!
I have just a couple of my son's outfits left, but you can email me and I'll send you a pic of them and if you want them I'll send them your way. heatherc79@yahoo.com

I would look for second hand stores for the clothing. You can find some really nice outfits there. And they do clean them before they resale... Also you can buy toys and stuff there also.. And rest assure, they clean those as well..
