I sent my friend a....well lets say an illegal program.....He called and told me he deleted it because charter sent him a email saying they knew and were gonna sue him. Ok i dont pay for **** i download off the internet (most of it is illegal) and charter has never sent me an email like that so someone explain.

All ISP's keep databases on all users on what IP addresses you view and uploading and downloading tendancies, but I dont think they go as far as analyzing the files themselves to see if they are legal or illegal.

Sounds like your friend is pulling your leg, charter would not sue, they would just discontinue his service, thats about all the power they have in to do....
