Hey dudes!
All information related to living and working in New York (or America generally) will be helpful! I have no idea what type of work/living permits you need and how much it costs and the time it takes to get these in place. Thanks so much!! XX

First, while marrying an American can make things go faster, it does NOT guarantee entry or a green card! Just to get that out of the way, lol!

Here is the immigration website, all the information is there, though the website is not nearly user friendly enough.

Right now immigration from the U.K. to the U.S.A. is averaging about 5 years ... and there are indeed fees involved, around $1,200 - $1,500 USD.

Read through the various classes of immigration, and also ways of coming temporarily, like working for a year, or studying ...those avenues seem to take less time.

Get a working visa from an employer who is willing to sponsor you. You can also get an R visa for a religious worker if you are one. Or else you can fall in love and get married to a US citizen and voila! Greencard!

No chance mate. The yanks don't like us and we are about the only country in the world that cannot enter their green card lottery.
