Im looking to buy a gretsch guitar but im unsure of the differnt types.

An electric guitar has a solid wood body with electronic pickups and can only be heard and played through an amplifier.An acoustic guitar has a hollow body and makes its own sound. Before you spend any serious money my advice is to buy a good beginners book a good one is:-Learn To play Guitar by Star Fire books find them at www.star.fire.co .uk

It's a name Gretsch came up with; it's not a standard.
