My question is... my car stopped moving, but it was still running, it was still able to be started when it arrived at the dealership. My question is... if it was so "bone dry" out of gas... why did my car start?? Dont you have to have gas in order for the vehicle to start??

As you obviously know, it makes no sense to say the fuel pump is the problem with a car where the engine still runs. Get the car away from those monkeys and to a real mechanic.

Lady

I don't know where you took it, but get it out of there. If the car is running then what is it running on if not gas? If the engine is running but the car won't go it sounds like a transmission problem or even remotely the rear end, but not the fuel pump.

RUN RUN RUN away. I don't think you're going to like how this turns out if they fix it.

you still have gas in your lines though, Bone dry is an expression in their opinoins I guess. And yeah it can kill your fuel pump, BUT if the car was running fine, then more than likely your fuel pump is fine.
