My dog died suddenly several years ago. I actually put my hand to my mouth, backed up, and had to sit on the ground. I looked like someone acting shocked in a movie or something, but that was really my reaction when I found him dead. I was crying minutes after that. I loved that dog, and he loved me. I have a dog now with my new husband, and the dog loves us both, but it is not the same as having a dog that just worships you... sharing isn't quite the same.

I am so sorry...losing a pet is like losing a family member. I have 2 dogs and 3 cats. Oh I always worry about them, I hate the fact they age so much faster than humans!
I had a cat for 18yrs he was the sweetest cat..and oh so loyal my best friend. When he died he was in my arms I will always love my Snibbles..he is buried in my yard with his own stone. The way I handled it was I had to keep telling myself...I gave him a great life..he was loved and taken care of. That was for me a way to cope...think of all the poor homeless and abused animals. Our babies are loved and that is what matters most!
Hope I helped...and one day you will have a new pet...when you least expect it!
Ciao

I know what you are going through its very hard. and my eyes are swollen for crying, I can't sleep because I see her laying thier on the table. I had her since she was a puppy. I'm trying to remember the good times. my heart goes out to you. I have 2 other dogs, but it not her. if you know what I mean.

Yes, my 14 year old cat died of cancer. Then the next year my 16 year old male died of old age and I think he missed her;too.
I will never have another pet. I keep their cremains in nice cedar boxes.
