We got a "Proaction pets" cleaner from Argos £59.99. It's like a cheap copy of the Dyson and it works well for us. We have two cat's. It also comes with a "TURBO BRUSH" attachment which is handy for the stairs !

I agree A DYSON An awfully lot of initial outlay, but all worth it. I have one and I can say it´s the best Hoover I have ever had. Dyson Slim DC18 Allergy or a Dyson DC15 Animal or a Dyson DC14 Animal. If you go onto the Dyson own site. It will ask you questions about which type of Dyson you require, then it gives you results and you can compare everything including the prices. The above ones range from £299.99 ---359.99. Hope this helps.

i have a newfoundland so know ALL about pet hair!! I have been through a couple of Dysons, including a special animal version. I can wholeheartedly recommend a Sebo. Mine cost £250 but it's guaranteed parts and labour for 2 years and parts for 5 years. It's the only vac that's ever been able to cope with my dog hair problem. Sebo. Definitely. Would never go back to any other brand.

Dyson Animal is the way to go. It is expensive, about $500 - $600, but really good. I actually enjoy sweeping now.
