I am getting a dog soon, I'm not sure what kind yet, and I can't decide on a name. It'll be a boy dog for sure. I like Spencer, Alex, Fangs, Henniker, and Mack. Which one is the best or what name would you reccomend?

I like the ones you picked!! But, personallyI think that Hennicker, Alex, and Mack are the nicest!! Hennicker is original and cute, ( sometimes you don't want a common name!!), but if you like more common names Alex, Mack, and Spencer are great!!Fangs is okay, but it might be scary to smaller children, or neighbor kids. Out of all of them, I choose Hennicker. Odd, original, and cute!!

I had a boyfriend that was a dog groomer. Fangs and Spencer are used out. Alex...hmm...no, too human. Mack, thats a name with some girth to it. Henniker LOVE IT! But I am a believer in picking the name when you get the dog. It might take a few hours or maybe a second. But when you bring HIM home, it'll be like..."Hello ____." Trust. Do it.

The only way Fang would effectively work is if the dog were a complete opposite of the literality of the word, i.e., a Chihuahua or a Yorkie, etc. I like Spencer. It's intellectual and non-threatening.

Anything but Fangs. BTW, if your dog ever ended up biting someone, they can and will hold it against you that you gave the dog an aggressive sounding name. So I'd avoid that one.
I like all the others. We have an Alex in our family. Shorter names are easier for calling them.

You could pick out a name now and when you get the dog maybe a completely different name will hit you. He'll look like a ______. That's it!!
Years ago, when I lived in some apartments, one of our neighbors had a dog she named "damn it". She used to go to the door and call him. Here, Damn It.

Alex ans Spenser are good but if you want more http://epuppy.stormloader.com/names.html has lots. A good tip is to keep them short and nice no fangs,killer,and bruser.

I like Spencer. We named our Lab Preston. You can use it if you want.
