moments from other films might i use.

i can think of demi moore in ghost...what others can you think of.

the only stipulation is they must be real tears being shed. i want happy moments...but i will consider other more ambiguous or not necesarily happy moments ie tears of loss like in american beauty, where the wife cries wnen her husband is shot..even though she was considering shooting him herself!

i love the bit in "a matter of life and death" but thats not what im after.

The bit in "An Affair to Remember" with Cary Grant and Deborah Kerr at the end when he realises she's paralysed and she says "Darling, don't look at me like that" with tears in her eyes, that has to be the ultimate tears of joy moment for me.

Or how about one of the last scenes in the romatic comedy "Sweet Home Alabama" on the lightning-struck beach with the rain coming down, when Reese Witherspoon realises that she still loves Josh Lucas, and they end up sort of crying in the rain on a storm-swept beach?

Now you've got me going: how about the scene with Marlon Brando in a "A Streetcar Named Desire" where he realises the error of his ways, and shouts for his wife, Stella, to come down from the building. When she finally comes down to see him, he falls to his knees crying, embraces her pregnant belly, kisses her, says "Don't ever leave me, baby", sweeps her off her feet, and carries her up to the building for a night of passion.

Another great one is the farewell scene between little Joey and Shane in "Shane, when he indicates to Joey that he will never return. The tears well up in Joey's eyes and Shane whispers "Bye, little Joe". As he rides off into sun framed against the mountains, the tears streak down little Joe's face, as she cries out "Pa's got things for you to do, and Mother wants you. I know she does. Shane. Shane. Come back. 'Bye, Shane." That has got to be one of the most memorable scenes in moviedom.

And Russell Crowe's tears of joy as he lies dying in the dirt in "Gladiator" as he is happy to join his wife and son in the after life - that's quite good too.

Pass the Kleenex. I have to stop now, or I'll get too emotional. I am sure there are some good scenes for your film sequence from "Shawshank Redemption" too, but I can't think of any specific ones where there are tears of joy.
