A recently taken photo by a relative currently in Argentina, but I have never seen this type of animal before - am sure most people know it but I have no idea!

Look and compare the physical features to other rodent-like species. It looks like it may belong in the mammal rodent classification. Or research what rodent-like species live in Argentina. It looks like a common species that been here for a long time.

It's not a fake photo thanks very much Trevor..
It was taken two weeks ago in Buenos Aires Zoo- these animals where all over the place and were always trying to take the other animals food. This one got up on it's hind legs when I got out my camara because it thought it was food.

Gardener is correct.
Coypu or Nutria, there are several sub-species
aka "swamp beaver"
Native to Argentina and there abouts. Farmed around the world for its meat and fur.
The one pictured is a very large adult.
Fun picture!

I'm a biologist, and Argentinean. That's only a photoshop piece of art to my understanding.
Where in Argentina is that thing supposed to be found?

IT IS A FAKE PHOTO.
Don't believe this white face and whiskers, placed upon another animal. The face has been covered by a fake set of whiskers.
DONT BE FOOLED!!!
Capi bara is spelled wrong, and it doesn't sit up on its hind legs. and it is larger than the shoes shown here. DONT BELIEVE THIS JUNK.
