just installed a new edelbrock 650 cfm carb and it starves out when i floor it at about 4,000 rpm . i also installed a new distributor so thats not the problem . any help will be good thanks

Vacuum advance line is hooked up to the wrong port on the carburator, and it's advancing the timing too much.

Just a guess.

ADDED: New Edelbrock carbs are very good and don't need to be adjusted. So don't screw with the carb adjustments.

what engine? What engine capacity? it could be just the needle springs & jets. or the cfm carby is to small for whatever engine your trying to run it on hope this helps

could be the choke if its a manual choke. also the air/fuel mixture screw could need adjusted, not sure how to help you any more than that.

there is two kind of them..
electric fuel pump or camshaft high flow pump.

electric hi -volume fuel pump sound familiar to You.
